Astro Technical Guide and
General outlook for the week (13.02.2012 to 17.02. 2012)::

Planetary Position :: During the current week Moon would be
transiting from Swathi in Libra to Moola constellation in
Sagittarius. Moon would be under the influence of Saturn conjunction (and also aspected by Jupiter)
in the first half of the week and aspected by Mars on Wednesday and
Thursday and by Saturn on Friday. Sun continues to transit in
Dhanishta constellation ruled by Mars which is retrograde. Saturn
continues to be retrograde. Mars and Saturn conjoin in Navamsa chart
in Scorpio till 22nd February till which period market can be expected
to be generally Bearish. Astrologically, 15th February is expected
to be a Big range day for the market (could be a Bearish Day). Rahu, planet for FII activity would move to Anuradha constellation ruled by Saturn from Tuesday and FIIs could turn cautious on their investments.
Considering the overall position, high degree of caution is advised,
astrologically and Risk Reward ratio for Long positions appears clearly
unfavourable.

Astro Technical Position for the Week :: Market rallied for the 6th
week in succession and closed with a muted gain of mere 1% during the
week. Weekly chart pattern suggests tug of war between Bulls and Bears
and nobody seems to be in control during the week. Hence, next week
would decide who would win over the other. However, general market
sentiment has changed and it is a case of “Buy on Decline “ now.
Fundamentals have improved on Currency front as INR has appreciated
considerably and liquidity has improved and Interest scenario also
would improve in future once RBI starts cutting rates from the next
meeting. However, despite all the above, broader market correction is
overdue and can be expected once FII buying slows down . Technically,
market is in overbought position and a reasonable retracement can be
expected . Further, there is strong resistance around 5450, which if
crossed at 5555. On the othr hand, if 5330 is breached, level of 5200 can be expected very soon.

Nifty Outlook for Next Week :: 13.02.12 to 17.02.12

NIFTY :: 5382 (+56)

Market went up for the Sixth week in succession fuelled by FII Buying
. However, this week rise has been only 1% and market traded in a
very narrow range of under 2.5%. Narrow range indicates fight
between Bulls and Bears at these levels and if current week’s low level
is breached, it would lead to further fall. On the other hand, if
current week’s high is crossed, further rise is also possible.
Further, strong resistance is there around 5555. However, current
rally is driven by huge liquidity and as long as institutional buying
continues any meaningful dips, either in Index or individual scrips
may be utilized to buy.

For the coming week, Nifty spot is expected to face resistance at
5455, 5530 and 5600 and find support at 5310, 5235 and 5165.

Technically, Nifty, presently Bullish, becomes weak it closes
below 5325.

Advice for Traders :: In view of the narrow range in the last week,
traders are advised to wait for Break out above the high or Break down
below the low of the last week’s range and trade accordingly for the
next week.

Market Outlook for 19th January, 2012 :: First Half Subdued... Second Half Better …!!!

Nifty closed with nominal decline despite huge rise in market heavy weight stock Reliance which contributed more than 20 points to Nifty. However, this can be considered as a minor correction / consolidation for Tuesday’s rise. Further, short term trend continues to remain Bullish and stop loss may be retained at 4850 / 4875 (on close basis). Nifty spot is expected to encounter resistance at 4990, 5025 and find support at 4920, 4885 for Thursday. While Global cues, Funds flow, Q3 results are expected to broadly guide the market movement, Market can be expected to remain subdued in the first half (continuing previous day’s trend ) and recover in second half in line with short term trend.

Review of Wednesday, 18th January, 2012 ::

Market closed with moderate decline but broader market was weak as Declines were nearly Thrice the Advances and market appears to have corrected for the previous day;s smart rise. Main saviour for the market was Reliance as it had gone up about 4% on Buyback news and averted a major fall. IT and Metal were the biggest losers. Reliance, Rel Infra, HDFC Bank, Rel Power and ONGC were the major gainers while Tata Steel, SAIL, Coal India, M&M and Axis were the major losers. 17 of Nifty stocks went up whereas 33 stocks declined . Among F&O stocks, Volatas, Essar Oil, IB Real estate, Auropharma, Tata Steel closed in the red with higher Open Interest indicating Bearishness while Bombay Dyeing, Adani Enterprises, Deltacorp, Areva, Unitech, HDFC Bank gained with rise in Open Interest indicating Bullishness.

Nifty closed nearly flat after a day of Strong gains. Q3 results season would be starting with Infy set to declared results on Thursday and the stock looked nerous ahead of results (could be due to profit booking). Short term trend continues to remain Bullish and stop loss may be trailed to 4750 (on close basis). Nifty spot is expected to encounter resistance at 4895, 4930 and 4965 and find support at 4805, 4770 and 4735 for Thurssday. Infy results would set the trend for the day. While Global cues, Funds flow, Q3 results are expected to broadly guide the market movement, Market might display volatile movements with subdued / bearish trend in general with better midsession.

Review for Wednesday, 11th January, 2012::
After massive gain on Tuesday, market cooled off yesterday with lackluster movement and closed flat for the day with a modest gain of about 10 points. However, broader market is quite strong, as has been the case recently, with Advance Decline ratio placed at 2:1. FMCG and IT stocks dragged the index down while Realty, Metal and Bank stocks gained. Infy looked weak ahead of quarterly results. Reliance and Axis Bank contributed 10 points to Nifty while Infy and TCS dragged Nifty down with a negative contribution of more than 10 points. Hindalco, Sesagoa, BPCL, Sterlite and Axis were the major gainers among Nifty stocks while TCS, Powergrid, Jindal Steel, Grasim remained as major losers. Among F&O stocks. Indain Bank, Tata Chem, TCS and Ultracem closed in the red with higher Open Interest indicating Bearishness while IB Real estate, DishTV, Jain irrigation and Arvind gained with additional Open Interest indicating build up Long positions.

Market Review for Tuesday, 10th January, 2012 ::

Market came out of the narrow range and closed with a huge gain of more than 100 points to close at 4850. 47of Nifty 50 stocks closed in the green and about 11 stocks closed with a gain of more than 4%. Broader market was very strong with Advance Decline ratio placed at 5:1. Reliance and ICICI Bank together contributed more than 25 points to Nifty’s rise. RPower, M&M, Rel Infra, Hindalco remained as major gainers. 3I Infotec, IRB, KFA, Jindal Steel were the major gainers among F&O stocks.

Market Outlook for Wednesday, 11th January, 2012 :: Opening Session Better… Midsession Subdued …!!!

Nifty closed with a gain of more than 100 points and came out of the recent narrow range. Short term trend continues to remain Bullish and stop loss may be trailed to 4705. Nifty spot is expected to encounter resistance at 4885, 4920 and 4955 and find support at 4815, 4780 and 4745 for Wednesday. While Global cues, Funds flow are expected to broadly guide the market movement, Market might display volatile movements with further uptrend in the Opening Session and subdued mid session (retracement) .

Technically, getting into oversold and may find support between 4450 and 4500 for a reasonable bounce.

Nifty Outlook for Week :: 19.12.11 to 23.12.11
NIFTY :: 4652
Last week was full of events such as IIP Data, Inflation Data, Advance Tax Numbers and finally RBI Policy. Of the above IIP Data was quite negative while others were neutral to positive. However, market reacted quite negatively to Monday’s IIP Data and recovered most of the fall by Friday afternoon and then came the biggest fall. Market fell on Friday afternoon and Nifty fell nearly 200 points in the last Two hours to close with a loss of about 4% during the week, most of the fall coming in the last Two hours of the week. Current month witnessed high volatility with small net change.

For the coming week, Nifty spot is expected to face resistance at 4720, 4790 and 4860 and find support at 4585, 4515 and 4450.

Nifty would be in Bullish zone for the next week above 4800 and would be in Bearish zone below 4750.

Advice for Traders :: Nifty is getting into oversold zone and might find support at between 4450 and 4500. Fresh short positions are not suggested while existing short positions may be covered and Risky traders may attempt long positions between 4450 and 4500 with a put option as hedge for reasonable pullback to about 4700 levels. It may also be noted that Long positions on Nifty are against the short term trend and are advised at crucial support level as a counter trend trade. Alternatively, Long positions on Nifty can be attempted only when Nifty closes above 4650 with established low level as stop loss.

However, Nifty presently under short term Bearishness would come out of the same only if it closes above 4825 in first half of the week and above 4700 in second half of the week.

Nifty closed in the green after Eight days of continuous fall and gained more than 0.5% to close above 4800. With only Two days to go for F&O expiry, it is to be seen whether Nifty would be able to have some meaningful retracement or it would make another new low breaching strong support zone of 4725 – 4750 level. In view of F&O expiry, scrip specific volatility can be expected. As Bears have dominated the month in general, in view of derivatives expiry, Nifty may not sustain at higher levels . However, not much downside can be expected as market is oversold and also meaningful pullback is due. Astro Technical Position for the Week :: Last week was one of the rare weeks, where in Market had fallen on all the Five days of the days and fall continued for Seven days continuously. Sentiment which was better 2 weeks back worsened last week and is at the lowest ebb. Medium term technical trend for Nifty has turned bearish in line with Long term trend paving way for further fall. However, in view of highly oversold position (market falling for Seven consecutive days), market can be expected to have minor relief rally. However, as F&O expiry is due on the next Thursday, it is doubtful whether any meaningful relief rally can materialize or it would come only in the first week of new settlement. In any case, technically, market is in oversold position and one needs to wait for a relief rally to take positional shorts. It is better to book profits once and sit on sidelines for taking shorts once again on relief rally. Midcap stocks have been beaten out of shape and this kind of selling at these levels suggests significant fall going forward. Astrologically too, planets posited in Scorpio i.e., Sun, Mercury and Rahu are aspected by Mars and Venus in Scorpio / Sagittarius is aspected by Mars / Saturn. Mercury is turning Retro on 24th and communication gaps are to be expected and no information / report can not be trusted. Sun Rahu conjunction going to take place later also suggests further downside. Astro Technical Position for the Week :: Nifty moved in a narrow range of about 150 points during the week and closed with a loss of about 1.5% for the week on the back of huge gain in the previous week. Though market had gone up recently , fundamental concerns both global and domestic continue to remain the same. But technically, market is in better shape but close to strong resistance zone (may not go above 5500) and when it goes below 5150, down trend would be in place once again. Fundamentally, due to fundamental factors, several stocks are available at attractive buy and making them value Buy with long term horizon. Investors with long term outlook can buy such stocks. Saturn, slowest moving planet among Navagrahas would be entering its exalted sign Libra on 15th November and infra stocks which have been languishing for last couple of years could prove to be a dark horse set to win the race. Hence any technical breakouts may be used to buy or buy on SIP basis with long term outlook. Market is expected to be driven by global concerns and as the ground is slippery, wait for the market to become technically weak to take shorts or at higher levels with 5510 as stop loss. Astro Technical Position for the Week :: As expected Market came out of the narrow range and gave a break out when it closed above 5180. As solution was found Greece problem, world markets rallied and our market too went up on Friday by 3% and last week recorded a rise of 6%. However, the rise was very swift and only those who had overnight long positions got benefited. Nifty filled up the gap at 5325 and in the process created a gap once again and it is to be seen when this gap would get filled up. However, there is strong resistance in the region of 5500 and before it could go past 5500, it might fill up the gap and could revisit 5200. Nifty would cease to be bullish only when it closes below 5150. Hence, for the time being any fall may be utilized to take long positions. Alternatively, risk takers can take short around 5450 with 5510 as strict stop loss or buy 5400 put options around the aforesaid level. Though nothing much has changed fundamentally, sentiment is vastly improved and investors worldwide are far more comfortable and are willing to buy. Astrologically, Mars moves into Leo and would transit in this sign for more than 7 months as against normal 45 days and would be aspected by benevolent Jupiter and hyper activity can be noticed in the markets now and those who are on the right side would be immensely benefited and vice versa. It would no longer be a side ways / narrow / dull market going forward. So fasten your seat belts as we could be having a fast ride from now on. On the other hand Saturn also would be moving to Libra on November 15 th and also receiving Jupiter aspect and this could bring in discipline and reduce the expected high volatility. Mercury would be getting retro from November 24th and would create lot of communication gaps. Also the global solar eclipse on November 25th also is to be closely watched. Venus and Mercury have moved to inimical Scorpio and out of Jupiter aspect could dampen the sentiment. Considering all the above, it should be seen whether 5500 would be taken out or not ?? (my bet is that it might not be taken ) and we could move in 5200 - 5500 range for the time being. In November series, we may trade between 5485 on the upper side and 4900 on the lower side (once 5200 is broken ).

Based on present market movement, Nifty spot would be in Bullishzone above 5515 and in Bearish zone below 5500 for Tuesday . Under normal circumstances, Nifty spot is expected to trade between 5555/ 5575 on the higher side and 5445 / 5425 on the Lower side.

Nifty , after opening in the negative territory, continued its downward journey with narrow intraday movements and closed just below 5500 with a loss of about 50 points. Nifty continues to remain in bearish mode with strong reversal point to bullish mode above 5610 and strong support at 5435.

IF resistance levels are achieved in the forenoon session, buying may be avoided at higher levels and risky traders can consider short positon for a pull back to Bullish trigger level. IF Support levels are achieved in the forenoon session, selling may be avoided at lower levels and risky traders can consider buying for a pull back upto Bearish trigger level / other support levels.

Astro Technical Position for the week :: Market moved in a narrow range of about 150 points last week (Both weekly Low and High levels recorded on Friday itself) and closed flat for the week indicating indecisiveness due to tug of war between Bulls and Bears. Since market fell sharply in the first week of the month, it appeared to have remained sideways last week. With OMCs raising petro prices and Diesel and other products hike also expected to follow during the this week, market is expected to remain rather weak with bearish bias. If Nifty closes below 5500, it can be expected to go down further upto about 5350. As is being mentioned in this column, Mars and Mercury conjunction on May 21, is expected to bring the market down . New Solar month which commenced on May 15, is generally expected to be Bullish. Hence, Nifty is expected to take support around key level of 5350 and may not go further below . Considering , Fundamental, Astro and Technical Factors, while correction can be expected to continue this week, deep correction need not be expected in the short term and any correction (upto 5350 ) can be utilized as an opportunity to buy quality stocks. Market can be expected to recover during next week beginning May 23. 5300 level can be regarded as a major support area for Nifty below which only major weakness would set in.
During the week, Nifty would become Bullish only if it closes above 5625.

Technical Levels for the week :: Nifty (spot) is strong above 5575 with resistance around 5665, 5735 and weak below 5515 with supports around 5430, 5350 for the week. Based on present market movement, Nifty would be in bullish zone above 5555 and in bearish zone below 5525 during the week . Under normal circumstances, Nifty is expected to trade between 5670/ 5700 on the higher side and between 5400 / 5350 on the lower side during the week. WD Gann’s natural numbers which would act as natural support and resistance are ::5293, 5366, 5440, 5514, 5588, 5663, 5739, 5815 during the week.
